I am a student representative on the APS Emerging technologies focus group. I am currently beginning my third year of studies in my PhD at Queen’s University Belfast with my main interest being in additive manufacturing. My interest in the field of 3D printing began during my undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Science, where I was able to undergo a year long research project in the area of Fused Deposition Modelling for fabrication of drug eluding catheters. This gave me a great insight into research culture and the area of 3D Printing. I then applied for a PhD position within Queens University due to my desire to continue in the area of research and additive manufacturing. Currently my research is focusing on the use of resin based 3D printing for transdermal drug delivery devices. I have been developing 3D printed microneedle arrays using Digital Light Processing, with expertise in other methods of 3D printing including Fused deposition modelling, Stereolithography and LC
